The Reds, Pinks and Purples - "Pour the Light In"

Glenn Donaldson has shared the second single from his upcoming album under his moniker, The Reds, Pinks and Purples.

Following this year's wonderful Uncommon Weather, Glenn Donaldson will release Summer at Land's End in February of 2022. Last month he shared the lead single and today he returns with another glowing track that continues to embody his take on "kitchen pop." Dreamy guitar weaves a remarkable thread throughout the track and highlights his simple, but sparkling approach to songwriting. Taking cues from indie-pop and a slight nod to homespun, '80s bedroom recording nostalgia, The Reds, Pinks and Purples blend the past and present to create shimmering tunes that radiate sunlight through simple production values. Distant drums anchor the track and add jangle-pop vibes to the already lush melody. There's a slight echo on the vocals as well, giving even more texture to the song, and a lovely riff that follows the title refrain. Donaldson has been on a prolific run as of late and shows no signs of slowing down. "Pour the Light In" is as warm as the pastels of Glenn's San Francisco neighborhood and as inviting as ever. A subtle, blissful gem of a pop song sure to reflect the glow of the light. It's warm, welcoming, and a leap forward in the discography of an artist hitting their stride.

Summer at Land's End is out February 4 via Slumberland.
