RE:SET, the traveling summer music festival hit Forest Hills in Queens this weekend and kicked off with a killer set of dance-punk from Idles, Jamie xx, and a headlining hometown set from LCD Soundsystem.

Fall weather descended upon New York City for the first official day of the season and really cooled things off, but the unstoppable combo of Jamie xx, Four Tet, and Floating Points brought the heat to Queens for an electric Friday night rave.

Governor's Ball | 2016


In recent years, Governor's Ball has become a great low-key festival for New Yorkers and the surrounding North Eastern region. Far enough from the major league status of Coachella or Bonnaroo, Gov Ball has gained a reputation for attracting top-talent headliners and a great mix of undercards together for a fun fueled weekend to help kick-off the summer. This year, fellow festival Panorama entered the mix as NYC's premier festival. It'll be interesting to see how this shapes up in the years that follow.

Albums of 2015



It's hard to reiterate just how much great music there was in 2015. From the smooth sounds of Miguel, to Kendrick's opus, pristine folk from Sufjan Steven and Joanna Newsom, supreme metal from Baroness, Sannhet, and Deafheaven, TWO Beach House records, a dreamy Deerhunter, and the stunning return of Sleater-Kinney, it really seems like there was something for everyone this year. I extended my list to forty albums this time around and still had difficulty narrowing things down in the end. These are my favorite albums of 2015.
