New month, Kelela will drop her highly anticipated new album and the fourth single is a luxurious, industrial-driven track that features guitar and vocal work from A.K. Paul, brother of the sometimes elusive and enigmatic singer Jai Paul. Titanium-strength bass provides a dark, sinister funk and the beats clang around her ethereal vocals while Paul chimes in with smooth, lush vocals of his own that give the tune a dark, nighttime vibe of pure emotion and silky flowing R&B. Originally penned for her excellent 2017 album Take Me Apart, the track hasn't been shared until now. "I sat with that song for so long, and it's literally untouched," the singer shared. "I waited because I needed to build a house for this song that gives its sound more context."
New Avatar is out July 10.
