During the making of their upcoming LP Routine, Jason Dungan's dog had puppies and one of them, the last to be born, was named Rita. She's the inspiration behind the title of the latest track from Dungan (who also records under the name Blue Lake) and Carøe and it's an immediate track, one that's brimming with a bit more energy and overall joy than we heard on their first offering. The rhythm here hits like a ripple across the water, it's repetitive nature giving the song its core structure as it dances with an inspiring groove. Carøe shared that "this was sort of a new colour on the record - also one of the later tracks to take form. Same sound universe, but to me it has a drive and positivity, that no other track has. There is some pure innocence there, maybe it’s the harmonic material or the beat, but I strongly feel the puppy love."
Routine is out September 25.
