It's a little hard to believe it, but Hot Chip have been putting out records for over two decades. Now, after releasing eight full-length studio albums, the band has announced a new greatest hits compilation called Joy in Repetition and it's out this September. Along with the hits, the band has snuck in a new tune called "Devotion" which is named for the band's commitment to each other and making great dance music over the years. "There's joy in doing something again and again," vocalist Alexis Taylor said. "That's true of rhythms, of grooves and of making records together for 20 years. We're still doing it. We still love doing it." The track is "a celebration of the devotion to doing this project together," Taylor continued. “I think of Joe as being like Brian Wilson, with this huge dedication to finding how to make the most amazing pop music,” he added. This one is full of the typical sparkling disco beats and euphoric synths that make their best work sparkle with crystalline bombast, putting a bow on an already elite collection of songs.
Joy in Repetition is out September 5.
