Sault - "Wildfires"

Not much is known about the UK group Sault, but after sharing two releasess last year, they've returned with their debut full-length album. Untitled (Black Is) couldn't be more of the moment and leaves a truly stunning first impression.

Taking cues from jazz, funk, soul, and afro-psych, the album combines these sounds and turns them into something totally new and beautifully unique. This is an album that represents the traumatic feelings sweeping the country and the world and is a fully realized form of exceptional expression. Early standout "Wildfires" sparkles with astounding emotion and reveals in Black thought, Black feelings, and Black pride. It's an incredible statement of purpose and one that demands attention. It's a song of the moment, of the movement, and one that cannot be ignored.

"Thief in the night
Tell the truth
White lives
Spreading lies
You should be ashamed
The bloodshed on your hands
Another man
Take off your badge
We all know it was murder
Murder, murder
Murder

We are dying, it's the reason we are crying
We are crying

But we will never show fear
Even in my eyes
I will always rise
In wildfires
I ain't never been scared
Even through my tears
I will always care
In wildfires

But we will never show fear
Even in my eyes
I will always rise
In wildfires
I ain't never been scared
Even through my tears
I will always care
In wildfires"
