Iceage - "Ember"

After sharing a new single last month, Iceage have confirmed a new album is on their way and it's their first in five years!

Following last month's great, alt-rock indebted single "Star," Iceage have announced their newest record will be out at the end of May and shared another stellar song, "Ember." This one kicks off with a shuffling beat and roaring guitar that perfectly sets the stage for Elias Rønnenfelt to burst through the door with his wicked snarl. After the band's first two records, they expanded their sound to include some ragged, cow-punk swagger and that sonic wavelength is still intact here and even sounds a bit more polished than you'd expect, but don't fret, there are still plenty of rough edges that keeps the song firmly within their post-punk wheelhouse. It's an explosive number and one that holds its speed throughout the duration, there's no raging climax or big drop, but rather a propulsive energy that ignites the song from start to finish. It's a serious heater with seething enthusiasm and the raw intensity that has made them one of the most consistent bands of the past fifteen years.

For Love Of Grace & The Hereafter is out May 29.
