In the late '90s, two members of the band Tortoise, who also happened to play in Gast del Sol and Eleventh Dream Day, teamed-up with some friends from similar scenes to form the band Pullman. They made acoustic-driven music that didn't really fit the vibes of their other bands and made two album before seemingly disappearing. Now, twenty-five years since their last album, the band has come back and announced a new album, III, will be out at the top of 2026. The lead single from the record is the appropriately titled "Weightless," a song the comes together around acoustic guitars which swirl together in an ambient haze. It's a soft, yet moving, track that doesn't necessarily drone onward, but rather floats with a slight sparkle. A pleasing listen that wraps you in a billowing dreamscape.
III is out January 9.
