The best music of the year isn't always from something new. Reissues from the past can be a great way to uncover artists that may have never made it on to your radar in the past and live albums can help you hear songs in ways you may have missed in a studio version. Sometimes a remix of a song can also jolt new or different energy into a track and give you new perspective as well. Then there's the world of film and the scores that come with motion pictures, new music that doesn't probably get played alongside some of your other favorites of the year, but deserve attention as well.
