Sam Prekop - "A Book"

The new album from Sam Prekop is out this fall and today he's shared the second single, "A Book."

The Sea and Cake member Sam Prekop makes emotionally stirring and evocative electronic music that hums and buzzes with supreme desires. His last solo album came in 2023, as did a collaborative album with his friend and bandmate John McEntire. In September he’ll release a new solo album, Open Close, and today he shared the wonderful second single, “A Book,” which maneuvers itself with tantalizing blips of crystalized electronics and a glowing fuzz that embraces it’s vibrant mood. The song opens with a strong, rhythmic display before dissolving into natural polyrhythms and serene melodies that make it a transformative piece that brightens up with absolutely surreal pleasures. There are wisps of shimmering synths that wash over the song as it's punctuated with delicate, yet effective rhythms that give it some weight while still allowing the number to float along with sparkling joy. 

Open Close is out September 26.
