Orcutt Shelley Miller - "Four-door Charger"

The second track from the upcoming record by the new trio Orcutt Shelley Miller is a sprawling sonic jam that finds them wielding absolute force.

For fans of noisy experimental music, the news that Bill Orcutt, Steve Shelley, and Ethan Miller had formed a new band felt like an immediate YES! For decades, these three have been members from some seminal groups that have helped redefine rock music, trading in conventional methods for new ways to create noise and dissonance in groundbreaking style. Next month, the trio will release their debut album as a group and today they've shared the new song "Four-door Charger" and it's an absolute ripper. Clocking-in at almost nine minutes, the instrumental tune is a monster of a jam that has all three members harnessing their powers and, combined, they absolutely level us with this conquering freak-out of pure, controlled chaos. In a press release, the group has called it a "kraut-funk" jam and it's complete with ragged grooves and blustery blues-rock that make this another one that defies genres. You can think of jazz for it's frenetic energy or psych for it's blown-out style and there's of course the noise and no-wave elements as well that helps give it a rigid edge.

Orcutt Shelley Miller is out September 5.
