Death from Above 1979 are a drum and bass duo in the sense that one of them drums and the other plays the bass. They don't make drum n' bass music, but instead some noise-infused rock. This is very apparent on their new single "Private Lives" which delivers pulverizing, electrified bass lines over thundering drums. As you'd expect from this duo, it goes hard and blasts away with pounding energy that forces you to get down with the groove and let loose. According to the band, "The song 'Private Lives' is a declaration of privacy in an era of overexposure. We are compelled, often by one another, to share our most intimate moments and quietest thoughts. To what end? More often than not, to be part of a cheap consumer feedback loop. Ultimately though, it's just a ripping rock song with maniacal riffs!"
