It's been half a decade since we last heard new music from the punk group Iceage, but today they've ended that drought with a new track called "Star." Even though it's been a while since their last record, Iceage has been one of the most consistent bands over the past fifteen years with five excellent records under their belt and the release of this new song is the perfect excuse to go back and remind yourself just how go they've always been. Wonderfully expanding from their clanging post-punk and hardcore beginnings and moving towards cow-punk and a more streamlined sound, the band has become more accessible over time while never losing their morals. "Star" is yet another song that finds them shifting further towards alt-rock supremacy while still keeping their snarl in tact. It's unclear if there's a new record on the way, but this is a much welcome return nonetheless.
