Nothing are set to drop their new album, Tire of Tomorrow, on May 13th via Relapse Records. Their latest single, "The Dead Are Dumb", is a stunning ode to early nineties psychedelia.
The band may come across as sinister with their pitch black, hardcore looks, troubled past, and metal label, but their swelling guitar anthems lean much more towards post-rock euphoria and ecstatic bliss. Billowing riffs distill kaleidoscopic melodies while oscillating drums give the song structure and allow it to breathe. Nothing aren't reinventing the shoegaze wheel here, but their knack for nostalgia is strong without sounding stale. A nice dose of melancholic, paisley joy.
