TV on the Radio will release their fourth full length album, Nine Times of Light, on April 12th after taking some time off for some solo projects. The first single from the album is entitled "Will Do" and it can be heard above via Seattle's 107.7 The End.

Radiohead - "Lotus Flower"

After Radiohead announced on Monday that the release of their new album, The King of Limbs, would be a mere five days away, music fans went into an almost frenzy. Yesterday the rock legends out did themselves and leaked their own album a day earlier then originally planned. The album is available for download now via the band and physical copies will be released later in the spring. LCD Soundsystem played The Colbert Report

By now I'm sure you've heard that on April 2nd, LCD Soundsystem will play their last ever show and it will take place at the world's most famous area, Madison Square Garden (Apparently the Strokes will play host the night before?). The week leading up to the show will see the band playing four nights at the smaller Terminal 5 in a week long final send off. Last night, the band played their final television performance on The Colbert Report. After three epic albums, these guys will be sorely missed.

The Strokes - "Under Cover of Darkness"

New York City's kings of rock n roll have returned with the first single from their highly anticipated new album Angels. For the next 48 hours "Under Cover of Darkness" will be available as a free download via the band's website and the album drops March 22nd. So far their claim to return to their 'classic' sound is holding true. And the wait has been worth it.

James Blake

James Blake's self-titled debut album is out today via Universal and is an early front runner for critic's year end lists. The album blends classic soul and post-dubstep as highlighted above in the video for "The Wilhelm Scream".

The White Stripes R.I.P.

I guess this news has been a long time coming, but today the White Stripes officially announced that they would no longer be recording new songs or playing live. I am fully aware that by now, practically every blog has posted this, but I still feel the need to share the news.

I bought White Blood Cells in 8th grade (the first half of 2002) and it immediately had a giant impact on me and the music I listened to at the time. Along with the debut Strokes album, my taste was shifted towards the garage-rock revival scene and Jack White would later become my favorite rock star of the past decade. Everything about them intrigued me from their simplicity, to their color scheme, to their relationship (brother & sister or husband & wife). I followed their every move and made several attempts to see them in concert, however nothing ever worked out. When Elephant was released in the spring of 2003, I bought it the day it came out (one of the last times that has ever happened) and listened to it on repeat for weeks. It was the first new release I ever bought on vinyl and probably one of the best sounding records I have ever purchased. The album would later take the spot of my 3rd favorite album of the 2000s. Needless to say the White Stripes went on to become one of my favorite bands and their ability to change their sound on each record and still deliver quality hits absolutely blew my mind (and still does). Their countless hits over the years still sound as fresh as ever and while their last album came out in 2007, I still had hope that one day they would be back and I would see the legendary peppermint duo in the flesh. Alas, this will never happen. "The White Stripes belong to you now and you can do with it whatever you want" is the statement from the band and for it, I am eternally grateful.

Thank you Jack and Meg for providing me with some many excellent songs and memories. I will treasure your music and the impact it has had on me forever.

Fleet Foxes will release the follow-up to their epic self-titled debut on May 3rd via Sub Pop. The title track is now available and has the same familiar harmonized sound people have come to love from this band. Hopefully the momentum holds up.

Headless Horseman played Cameo Gallery

Halloween glitch-pop duo shared the bill last night as part of a Stadiums and Shrines showcase at Cameo Gallery. The performance last night was light years ahead of their debut show this past summer at Glasslands and are fully geared up for their residency at Pianos every Friday of February. The pair paid homage to thier direct influences mixing the post-rock build ups of Sigur Ros with the electronic frenzy of Aphex Twin and the lo-fi stylings of the Microphones. Connor and Fareed stand face-to-face along a row of drums and various objects as they pound away to pre-recorded loops and shrunken vocals allowing for an intimate exchange of vocals through cleverly arranged electronic blips and reverb. Chirps and Tweets were washed over fuzzy guitars and erratic beats. Steady pre-recorded sound collages allowed for smooth transitions between songs, something that definitely plagued the group in the past, and allowed for witty banter as the two switched between taped together acoustic and electric guitars.

Panda Bear - "Atiba Song"

Gorilla vs. Bear has posted the above skate video scored by a new Panda Bear song entitled "Atiba Song". This track seems to be a return to the styles of Person Pitch unlike the singles he released in 2010. Panda Bear has also announced the official release date (April 19th) for his highly anticipated Tomboy. In the meantime enjoy this delicious new jam.

Tennis - "Pigeon"

Denver husband/wife duo Tennis delighted listeners with their Phil Spector inspired fuzzed-out pop gems "Marathon" and "South Carolina" last year and are set to release their first proper full length LP in the coming weeks via Fat Possum. The new track "Pigeon" continues the retro dream-pop sound and gives high hopes for one of the most highly anticipated debuts of the year.
