I'm sure purists will argue, but for all intents and purposes, Militarie Gun are a hardcord band and they're a pretty one at that. While their melodies and choruses and more vibrant and accessible than a lot of the bands and the scene they're associated with, their spirit and ethos remain true to their roots. They haven't reached the same heights as their peers in Turnstile, but if they keep making tunes like "Throw Me Away," it certainly seems like their could follow in their path. The latest single from their upcoming album is an absolute blast, ripe with epic riffs and a blazing chorus that leaves you feeling exhilarated and ready to celebrate life. "'Throw Me Away' is about the feeling of only being valued when you're visible or useful and the desperate need to hold onto that," says frontman Ian Shelton when talking about the new tune. "What someone loves about you one day might be cited as a reason they hate you now. It's the desire for external validation and also the deep resentment of it." It sounds like a perfect summary of how the band might be dealing with their rise in exposure, but loyal fans will certainly find a lot to praise when this one kicks in and it's enough to validate the band as one of the most exciting up and coming bands in the genre. God save them indeed.
