Bruce Springsteen - "The Streets of Minneapolis"

Bruce Springsteen has shared a new song in response to the national terror unfolding in Minneapolis.

I hope everyone reading this is as outraged as to what is happening in Minnesota and other places around the country where Trump's fascist regime continues to wreak havoc against citizens as I am and if you're not, what the hell is wrong with you? For those ready to revolt, you're not alone. One of the most prominent voices representing the American people over the past fifty years has been Bruce Springsteen and naturally the Boss isn't stepping down for his role as an activist any time soon. Today he's shared a new song called "The Streets of Minneapolis" and said the following:

"I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It's dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.
Stay free, Bruce Springsteen"

While the song itself may be a tinge corny, the lyrics very much in your face and without metaphor, that isn't the point here. Yes, the Boss could've named the non-white folks who've also been murdered by ICE this year, but the spirit of the song, the calls for action, and the his unwavering commitment to the people is what matters. In such a time of reckoning, being outspoken is not just a choice, but a fundamental requirement of anyone who wishes to fight back against this administration. We are witnessing unspeakable horrors unfold in front of our lives and the government is actively trying to tell us otherwise. Everyone has the responsibility to stand up for justice, protect our neighbors, and fight the evil that has taken over the country. Good on Bruce for using his voice and platform to do just that.
