Olivia Rodrigo - "expectations (remix)" (ft Chappell Roan)

Two of the biggest names in pop link up to remix one of the year's best songs.

"Oh Olivia does remixes now." It's true y'all. When Olivia Rodrigo dropped you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love earlier in the year, one of the immediate standouts was the 'new wave / 80s-inspired "expectations." Even though there wasn't anything for these two to work out, now Rodrigo's enlisted her friend, and fellow Dan Nigro songwriting partner,Chappell Roan, to join her on the remix. At it's core, the song is essentially the same as the original and it's likely fair to assume that Roan recorded her vocals separately, sending them in after the fact to be added in the middle of the original mix. Still, while it does little, if anything at all, to add to the original, it's still a pretty big thrill to hear these two actually link up.
