Fine - "Everything in the Shade"

Copenhagen's Fine Glindvad Jensen (who makes music under their first name) has announced their sophomore record Jazz Dreams and shared the single "Everything in the Shade."

In 2024, the artists known as Fine released her excellent debut album Rocky Top Ballads (which I named as one of the best of the year). The record channeled woozy, downtempo beats with dream-pop melodies that recalled early '90s folk-noir acts like Mazzy Star and Cowboy Junkies. Last year, Fine released a handful of singles that followed that vibe and she may also be the voice behind the Dean Blunt-led project The Crying Nudes (which would make a lot of sense and feels pretty likely given the vocal stylings). Today she's announced that her sophomore album will not only feature those previous singles, but it'll be out at the end of October. To accompany the announcement, Fine has shared "Everything in the Shade," another murky tune that has those same dissonant, dusty vocals that hit over those slow, warbled beats. There's a softness to the tune that immediately puts things at ease, as her velvety voice adds a richness to the otherwise ethereal tones.

Jazz Dreams is out October 23.
